Read more

Renewal of accreditation for testing to be carried out in accordance with the NP2074

The dBwave renewed your accreditation for conducting evaluation test of impulsive vibrations in structures, According to the NP2074 standard:2015 by IPAC – Portuguese Institute of Accreditation, According to ISO standard 17035.

Mining and geotechnical activities that induce dynamic stresses on the land, namely: the dismantling of rock masses with use of explosive substances, pile driving, dynamic compression of grounds, among others, originate impulsive stress and subsequent vibrations in nearby structures, which, in consequence, may be damaged. Effects of continuous vibrations in structures DIN 4150-3

Unlike what happens in other countries, the criteria for evaluation of the effect of continuous vibrations in structures are not set out in legislation, in Portugal.

To fill this gap the dBwave believed the realization of evaluation of continuous vibrations in structures, According to the methodology of the DIN 4150-3:1999, by IPAC. Read more

Evaluation of discomfort caused by vibrations BS 6472-1

Accreditation according to ISO 17025

Unlike what happens in other countries, the criteria for evaluation of discomfort caused by vibrations are not laid down in legislation, in Portugal.

To fill this gap the dBwave believed the realization of evaluation of discomfort generated in vibrations, in accordance with the norm BS 6472-1:2008, by IPAC – Portuguese Institute of Accreditation, de acordo com os requisitos da norma ISO 17035. Read more

Noise reduction

1) Introduction

The sound can be air or driving structural conduction. Most sources radiate sound both as otherwise. The following diagram shows that for noise reduction measures can be taken at various levels in the chain: at the source, about the means of propagation, interfaces and/or on the receiver.

Evaluation of exposure of workers at vibrations – hand arm

1 -INTRODUCTION

During our day-by-day we are exposed to vibration, one way or another, in cars, buses, train, etc. Many people are also exposed to other vibrations, during your work, for example those produced by hand tools, machines or heavy vehicles.

Here will be only referred to the undesirable vibrations: the effect of overexposure to vibration; the various factors that should be taken into account when it is measured, How is measured and evaluated, and what actions can be developed to reduce sources of harmful and/or dangerous vibrations.

FREQUENCY RESPONSE OF THE HUMAN BODY

To understand the reason why humans are more sensitive to some frequencies than others is useful to consider the human body as a mechanical system. The system is complicated by the fact that: (a) each body part has your greater sensitivity in different frequency ranges; (b) the human body is not symmetrical, e (c) There are no two people respond to vibrations in exactly the same way. Anyway, biomechanical models were developed suitable to simulate human response to vibration.
