The vibrations are transmitted to the hand-arm system through the palm and fingers. Workers whose hands are regularly exposed to vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system may suffer tissue damage of the hands and arms that cause the symptoms known as syndrome of vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system.
