DECO estimates that in Portugal there are about of 800.000 people exposed to excessive noise and complaints concerning this, are the most common complaint in relation to the environment and, to respond to this concern of the society, in Portugal there is a legal framework on ambient noise and discomfort. Going to meet the interest that exists on this topic, dBwave will hold a training action on the implementation of the Portuguese legislation in this area.

To make an introduction to the topic of environmental noise and Discomfort, allowing the understanding of technical and legal issues involved with them and, in this way, enabling the participants of this action to deal with the various aspects involved.

• Basic concepts of acoustics applied to environmental noise and discomfort;
• Legal and normative framework of environmental noise and Discomfort; the decree law 9/2007:
  • The criterion of the exposition and the criterion of discomfort;
  • Neighbourhood noise;
  • Rights and duties.
• Test procedures of evaluation of discomfort and noise exposure assessment; test requirements;
• Evaluation of test reports for evaluation of ambient noise and discomfort.

The course has an eminently practical and is taught on the basis of examples and case studies.
